There is no corporation auto-spread thankfully. That Auto Spread action really helps in larger Empires.Ĭorps are similar in that the first few you want to place into towns that can really hammer out more, then the towns that can benefit the most. ![]() A Monastery of a given religion can be built in a city only when the city has that. Each religion has its own type of Monastery (dubbed Buddhist Monastery, Christian Monastery, and so on). A Monastery also gives bonus of +10 Science, and 2 Culture per turn to its city. Note that the owner is not necessarily a Full Member. Back to the list of buildings in Civ4 The Monastery is a religious building that allows its city to build Missionaries. Nevertheless, some tribes or peoples still remained uncivilized. They all have the same effects, differing only in what technologies they require and the material needed to speed production of their Cathedral (see the table). Civilization has also been spread by force, often using religion to justify its actions. Civilization IV has seven religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and Taoism. The uncivilized people then adapt to civilized behavior. The Owner is always one of the two candidates for the Resident Election regardless of his current religious or Defiance status. Civilization has been spread by introducing agriculture, writing systems, and religion to uncivilized tribes. After you stop caring who exactly gets infected, auto spread is fine, just look at the religion tab to see how many towns still need the creed, else you'll start converting other civ's (which you may or may not want). SIZE4COLORdarkredB Owner/B/COLOR/SIZE The Owner of the AP is the Civ that owns the city in which the AP is in. For religion, maybe it's a town that can hammer out more missionaries, or maybe a new town that needs the culture to pop borders, or even another Civ you want to convert to your religion. ![]() More seriously, early in the cycle there are towns you want to get converted specifically. Adopting the Theocracy Civic will block the spread of all non-state religions in much the same fashion as how Mercantilism blocks corp spread.Īs an interesting aside, if you have one of the serious religious nuts nearby (Izzy or Justinian anyone?) just open borders and they will flood you with missionaries.
